Education landscaping is built into us at Lion Lawns, we believe that this doesn’t just look good and tidy up facilities, but it encourages learning outside the classroom too. This takes us to our summer project at Caedmon Primary School in Middlesbrough.

Over the course of a few days we were tasked with transforming the outdoor grounds of this local primary school.

Two sides of the playground were separated by a large tree and timber which lead to a ‘wonky’ playground. There was also a wet pour rubber surface which had become extremely uneven and discoloured over time. We were tasked with turning all of this into artificial turf.

Part of the project included replacing fencing and gate plus removal of existing decking, timber, shrubs and trees.

The wet pour rubber area of the playground had succumbed to the harsh weather conditions

The Lion Lawns team worked with 508 square metres of our Play Green during the summer holidays, so the pupils could come back in September to a brand-new artificial turf playground.

And what a result it was.

From grim to green in no time at all.
